About Me.

Let me start off by saying I am so honored you're here! It is a dream come true to be able to capture what matters most through my art.

My work is largely inspired by the Impressionism movement; like these iconic painters, I recognize that the moments that make up our lives are as fleeting as smoke, so I strive to bottle them up with my paintbrush. Recently I've been exploring my style, inspired by the bright colors and bold mark-making of the Fauvist artists, and the way the Expressionists changed a perspective in order to evoke moods or ideas. It's been an absolute joy to explore what inspires and makes me as an artist.

Hi! I'm Emma.

Fun facts about me!

1.

I'm moving through 2025 with the hopes of having a body of work that's cohesive and representative of my grappling with identity and my sense of community.

2.

Coolest place I've ever been was a camp called Malibu, located in the Princess Louisa Inlet -on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, and I'd LOVE to go back with my lil fam.

Hi friend!

3.

I have a Bachelor's in Fine Art in Studio Arts & I'd looove to go back to grad school someday soon, it's always been a dream of mine.

4.

I spent a month at that camp, only a mile away from my future husband, but it wasn't until we were at a camp in North Carolina & he was wearing the Beyond Malibu camp shirt that I got to meet him!

5.

I'm a maaaajor homebody, so it doesn't get much better than curling up with a matcha latte and a good book!

I believe that I have a calling on my life to create with excellence and that it is glorifying to my creator. I've had this itch to create since I was a little girl, drawing and doodling absolutely everywhere - margins of my notes, walls, shoes, you name it. It wasn't until I had a series of incredible teachers who put a brush in my hand and believed in me that I was able to start pouring my heart onto paper, canvas, and even pottery. To this day, whether I'm painting a portrait of my daughter, a landscape of Lake Michigan, or a commission for a client, I pour my heart and awe of beauty into every painting I create.

I LOVE the painting process, the endless discovery of mixing paint colors and bringing mental images to life on a canvas. But what I love most is to create works of art with meaning. I want to tell stories and I want to do it with a little bit of magic.

I believe the Lord has put this calling on my life to serve others in this way.
